Nearly two dozen past students are returning to their former schools to experience a day as principal as part of Waukegan Public Schools’ annual Guest Principal Day on Monday, December 4. 

Now in its fourth year, Guest Principal Day takes on a special twist this year, as all Guest Principals are former students from their respective schools. This year’s guests come from a variety of backgrounds, including community leaders, entertainers, former professional athletes, medical professionals, first responders, and more. During their visits, Guest Principals will learn about the school and its students. Each school has special welcoming activities planned for the Guest Principals, including meetings with staff and students, classroom activities and building tours. 

“Guest Principal Day is always such a special day for our schools, and this year it takes on even more meaning, as we welcome former students back into their classrooms and hallways. I know our schools are very excited to show our alumni the wonderful things happening in our schools,” said Superintendent of Schools, Ms. Theresa Plascencia.  

Confirmed guests include: Sam Cunningham, Jennifer Davis, Jaclyn Deutsch, Johnathan Duffie, Daniel Edo, Israel Figueroa,  Ravin Gandhi, Jacqueline Herrera Giron, Jeremiah Johnson, Jonathan Jones, Gary Ladewig, Ninoshka Lopez, Desiree Martinez, Raul Ochoa, Francisco "Danny" Rea, Mike Reed, Tim Reidy, Gina Roberts, Gyahatzee Vargas, Jane Hassett Yarnall, Bill Weber, Heather Whitson, and Diego, Itssel, and Elias Santiago.
