The Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 Board of Education will host  a special public hearing on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, during its regularly-scheduled Board Meeting at 7 p.m..

The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comments on a proposed waiver application which, if approved, would allow the District to apply for a modification of Illinois School Code, 105 ILCS 5/27-6. This modification would allow the District to provide an alternative physical education schedule for grades K-5 of one (1) session every fourth day of school, for a total of 46 minutes each session. 

The Public Hearing will be held at Lincoln Center, 1201 N. Sheridan Road, Waukegan, Illinois 60085. 

Public comments on said waiver application will be taken during the Public Hearing. 

This hearing was previously scheduled for April 25.
