As part of our District 60’s ongoing anti-bullying efforts, and in observance of National Bullying Month, this October the students and staff of Waukegan Public Schools are pledging to “Buddy Up” against bullying in Waukegan Schools.

Waukegan preschool through 12th grade students will sign a pledge to “Buddy Up Against Bullying,” which will be displayed throughout school hallways. The anti-bullying pledge is just one facet of the District’s plans to align anti-bullying efforts in each school and promote a unified message for students. In addition to the pledge, students, staff and Board Members will participate in a Districtwide anti-bullying video contest, as well as engage in a week of “Buddy Up” Spirit week events.

“This year we wanted our focus to be on bringing people together, and building each other up,” said District 60 Coordinator of Crisis Interventions & Social-Emotional Learning Tasha London.

“We wanted all of our schools to join together to promote friendliness and positivity while bringing awareness to the negative effects of bullying.”
