Graduation and promotion events for Waukegan High School seniors and Waukegan 8th graders are fast approaching. Parents of seniors and 8th graders should have received information regarding planned graduation and promotion events for their child. Please see below for further information. 

High School

Waukegan High School graduation will occur over two nights this year, on May 19 and May 20. Ceremonies will begin at 5:30 p.m. both evenings at Weiss Field. Graduates will be assigned nights based on counselors.  

Similar to 2021, students will be assigned seats on Weiss Field, along with two parents/guardians. Up to two additional guests will have seating options in the Weiss Field bleachers. 

On Thursday, May 19, all students seated on the graduation stage will officially graduate, as will students will the following counselors:  - Mr. McMillin’s Student Caseload: Garcia - Knuth - Ms. Kinert’s Student Caseload:  Lara-Gonzales - Mena  - Ms. Sonmez’s Student Caseload: Mendez - Renteria - Ms. Schlifke’s Student Caseload:  Solis-Aranda - Zurita  - Ms. Ruby’s Students: AOEC - Ms. Cribb’s Students:  Private Day

On Friday, May 20, students will the following counselors will graduate:  - Ms. Jasnoch’s Student Caseload: Aaron - Castaneda - Ms. Philip’s Student Caseload:  Castilleja - Garay - Mr. Manning’s Student Caseload:  Reyes - Solis - Ms. Bustamante’s Student Caseload: EL Students

Middle School

Eight grade promotions events will be hosted over two days, on May 23 and May 24. Promotion events for all five Waukegan middle schools will be held at Weiss Field. Families should contact their child’s school for information on tickets.

On Monday, May 23, students from the following schools will participate in promotion exercises.  - Abbott Middle School - 3 p.m. - Juarez Middle School - 5 p.m. - Smith Middle School - 7 p.m.

On Tuesday, May 24, students from the following schools will participate in promotion exercises. - Lewis Middle School - 3 p.m. - Benny Middle School - 5 p.m.
