Waukegan Public Schools has begun registering incoming kindergarten students for the 2022-2023 school year. Parents of children who will turn 5-years-old prior to September 1 can begin registering for the fall, depending on their current enrollments. See below for information on various timelines. 

STUDENTS CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN WAUKEGAN’S EPIC PRESCHOOL PROGRAM - If your child is currently in our EPIC pre-k program, parents may visit their Parent Portal and register now.  Parents will need to submit 2 proofs of residency by uploading them to the application or sending them to their current school’s secretary.

STUDENTS WHO HAVE SIBLINGS WHO ARE ENROLLED IN WAUKEGAN SCHOOLS - If your incoming kindergartener has an older sibling that is currently enrolled in Waukegan Public Schools, all we will need at this time is your child’s birth certificate. Please email or bring your child’s birth certificate to your school’s office by March 18. We will add your child to our database and then you will be able to register the new student along with your older children in the Parent Portal beginning on March 30. Please bring the document in before Spring reak for this option. Proofs of residency will be required when you submit the application.

FAMILIES NEW TO WAUKEGAN PUBLIC SCHOOLS - New families can register incoming kindergarten students as new students beginning April 4. Parents will need to fill out all paperwork and bring in all required documents to the Welcome Center.

Las Escuelas Públicas de Waukegan han comenzado a matricular a los estudiantes que ingresarán al kínder el año escolar 2022-2023. Los padres de niños que cumplirán 5 años antes del 1 de septiembre pueden comenzar a registrarse para el otoño, según sus inscripciones actuales. Vea a continuación para obtener información sobre varias líneas de tiempo.

ESTUDIANTES ACTUALMENTE MATRICULADOS EN EL PROGRAMA PREESCOLAR EPIC DE WAUKEGAN - Si su hijo/a está actualmente en nuestro programa de prekínder en EPIC, los padres pueden visitar su Portal de Padres y matricularlos ahora. Los padres deberán presentar 2 comprobantes de residencia, subiéndolas a la solicitud o enviándolas a la secretaría de su escuela actual.

ESTUDIANTES QUE TIENE HERMANOS MATRICULADOS EN LAS ESCUELAS DE WAUKEGAN - Si su estudiante entrante a kínder tiene un hermano/a mayor que actualmente está matriculado en las Escuelas Públicas de Waukegan, todo lo que necesitaremos en este momento es el certificado de nacimiento de su hijo/a. Por favor envíe un correo electrónico o traiga el certificado de nacimiento de su hijo/a a la oficina de su escuela antes del 18 de marzo. Agregaremos a su hijo/a a nuestra base de datos y luego podrá matricular al nuevo estudiante junto con sus hijos mayores en el Portal de Padres a partir del 30 de marzo. Por favor traiga el documento antes del receso de primavera para esta opción. Se requerirán pruebas de residencia cuando presente la solicitud.

FAMILIAS NUEVAS A LAS ESCUELAS PÚBLICAS DE WAUKEGAN - Las nuevas familias pueden matricular a los estudiantes entrantes al kínder como nuevos estudiantes a partir del 4 de abril. Los padres deberán completar todos los formularios y traer todos los documentos requeridos al Centro de Bienvenida.
