Waukegan High School’s JROTC program will host its third annual Valentine’s for Veterans event later this month to support local veterans. This year’s program will feature an in-person card making event, and will also have an at-home option. 

Families are invited to an in-person event, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 6, at the WHS-Brookside Campus. To safely plan for the event, RSVPs are required. You can RSVP by clicking here. 

This year there is also an option for families who would like to create Valentine’s cards at their home. Anyone preferring to make cards at home can reserve a card-making kit. Kits can be picked up between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on  February 1 at Brookside Campuses’ Circle Drive. 

As in past years, JROTC cadets will collect Valentine’s cards to donate to the Midwest Veterans Closet in North Chicago, which distributes cards to various local veteran associations and organizations.
