District to Host LIHEAP Energy Fair Nov. 13

District 60 is once again teaming up with Community Action Partners (CAP) this weekend to help parents apply for Illinois's Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).


The event will take place Saturday, November 13 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. in the Carman-Buckner Elementary Gym, 520 Helmholz Ave, Waukegan, IL 60085.


During the event, representatives from CAP will assist families in applying for the LIHEAP, as well as answer questions. Qualified families are asked to bring proof of income, their energy bills, and identification.


The LIHEAP is designed to assist eligible low income households pay for energy services. LIHEAP will provide a one-time benefit to eligible households to be used for energy bills. The amount of payment is determined by income, household size, fuel type, and geographic location.
