District 60 is partnering with several local municipalities, non-profits, and donors to help bring stable and sustainable internet access to the city of Waukegan as part of the Connect Waukegan initiative. 

Connect Waukegan is an initiative of the Waukegan Community Broadband Taskforce. The taskforce was formed in 2020 in response to the growing recognition of digital inequities in Waukegan exposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal of this coalition is to bring broadband internet access to the community.

This week the Taskforce has begun mailing 10,000 Waukegan Community Broadband Surveys to Waukegan homes to help better understand the barriers that prevent families from having robust internet connections in their homes. 

We strongly encourage all families to please complete the survey, as it will allow for the taskforce to more effectively plan and gauge the needs of the community, and ultimately bring better broadband services to the community and our students.

Complete la Encuesta Sobre la Banda Ancha de la Comunidad de Waukegan 

El Distrito 60 se está asociando con varias municipalidades locales, organizaciones sin fines de lucro, y donantes para ayudar a traer acceso de internet estable y sostenible a la ciudad de Waukegan como parte de la iniciativa Connect Waukegan (Waukegan Conecta). 

Connect Waukegan es una iniciativa del Grupo Operativo de Banda Ancha de la Comunidad de Waukegan (Waukegan Community Broadband Taskforce). El grupo operativo fue formado en el 2020 en respuesta al creciente reconocimiento a las desigualdades digitales en Waukegan expuestas durante la pandemia de COVID-19. La meta de esta coalición es traer acceso a la banda ancha a la comunidad. 

Esta semana el Grupo Operativo ha comenzado a enviar 10.000 Encuestas Sobre la Banda Ancha de la Comunidad de Waukegan a hogares de Waukegan para ayudar a entender mejor las barreras que previenen a las familias a tener conexiones robustas de Internet en sus hogares.  

Animamos fuertemente a todas las familias a que completen la encuesta, ya que permitirá al grupo operativo planificar y evaluar más eficazmente las necesidades de la comunidad y, en última instancia, ofrecer mejores servicios de banda ancha a la comunidad y a nuestros estudiantes.
