Action Items

-The Board of Education voted to approve the purchase of Teacher Desks for Carman-Buckner Elementary School from Wood Dale-based Lowery McDonnell Company, at a cost of $24,482. 

-The Board of Education voted to approve the purchase of 75 iPads and cases to be used in conjunction with the Crisis GO Safety iPass software for scanning WPS60 staff, students and visitors upon entry to all buildings. The estimated cost is $25,000.

-The Board of Education voted to approve the amendments to Board policy 1101, Parent and Family Engagement, as recommended by the Administration.

-The Board of Education voted to approve the release of Closed Session minutes from meetings held on the following dates in 2019: June 4; July 2 and 17; August 13 and 27; September 10, 17 and 24; October 8 and 22; November 12 and 26; and December 10 and 17, subject to prior legal review and redaction for continuing confidentiality considerations and the other stipulations.


School Renamings

-The Board of Education voted to rename Thomas Jefferson Middle School to John C. Lewis Middle School, and Daniel Webster Middle School to Edith M. Smith Middle School. The changes take effect July 1, 2021. 


Personnel 

-The Board of Education voted to approve the retirements, resignation and appointments of 17 employees. 


Information Items

The Board of Education reviewed revisions to  Interim Policy 2003-2021 Graduation Requirements, Class of 2021. No action was taken on this item.
