How to Help at Home

Students can work on Boost, Dreambox, and McGraw Hill games. They can read any of the skills book stories on the CKLA app. Students can practice writing sentences using their spelling words too.

Learning Objectives

Math:

Students will be learning about halves and fourths. As well as the students will be learning about 2-D shapes and the attributes and 3-D shapes. The students will also be learning how tell time to the half hour. The students will be learning how to mentally add 10 more and 10 less. The students will continue to play math games such as attribute train, Salute

CKLA Skills :

We will be starting Skills Unit 6. In this unit we will learn alternative spellings for the /s/, /n/, /w/, and /ng/ sounds. We will be introducing pronouns in this unit. Students will practice using nouns, adjectives , plural nouns and prepositions. In unit 6 we will be drafting and writing a Personal Narrative.

CKLA Knowledge

We will continue to work on Unit 7 “The History of the Earth”. We will learn about inside the earth, minerals, the three type of rocks, fossils, and dinosaurs. In mid-March we will be starting Unit 8. In this Unit students will be learning about habitats and the types of animals that live in the habitat. Also the students will be learning about what we can do to help earth and the endangered species.
