Waukegan Public Schools will host a one-day Kindergarten registration event for new students on Saturday, April 30. The registration event is for incoming kindergarten students who are not currently enrolled in District 60’s EPIC preschool program. It will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Miguel Juarez Middle School, 201 N. Butrick Street. 


Parents should bring their child’s original birth certificate, as well as required proofs of residency. Proof of residency must include two of the following: a gas, electric, or water bill dated within the past two months, lease or housing contract showing parent’s name and address, or an Illinois Driver’s License or state identification card. If a proof of residency is in someone else’s name, a notarized affidavit letter from that person will be required. All required documentation will be needed to complete registration.


Please note that any student who speaks any language other than English will be required to take an English language evaluation at the registration event. 


Prior to the first day of school, all new kindergarten students will need a current school physical with a record of immunizations, plus the dental and vision examinations.
