Special Presentations
-Staff from John Lewis Middle School showcased the school’s student council program as part of the Spotlight on 60 series.
-Music teacher Ms. Karen Griffin, presented Board Members with special thank you notes from music students.

Action Items
The Board of Education voted to the renewal of Handwriting Without Tears for third grade students at a cost of $38,345. Handwriting Without Tears helps students build essential skills for emergent writing and handwriting success. This curriculum nurtures writing automatically through direct, explicit instruction along with guided and independent practice.
The Board of Education voted to approve the purchase of Smith System Huddle student desks for Juarez Middle School from Wood Dale-based Lowery McDonald at a cost of $103,585.
The Board of Education voted to approve the purchase of Tableau licenses for $32,090. The District uses Tableau to produce reports and visual presentations for complex data.
The Board of Education voted to approve the purchase of Frontline Professional Growth software licenses for $44,361.86 to support the staff development system and track the training hours for certified staff.
The Board of Education voted to approve the purchase and installation of a public address system at AOEC at a cost of $37,837. Operations has completed the installation of the PA system replacement at AOEC. This item was approved in the FY22 AOEC SBB submission and discussed at the November 16, 2021 OSC meeting.
The Board of Education voted to approve a contract with Crowne Industries at a cost of $26,869 to remove an abandoned underground storage tank at Whittier Elementary School.
The Board of Education voted to approve the purchase of new playgrounds at Oakdale, Lyon, Cooke, McCall and Clark from Team Reil Inc. through the Sourcewell Purchasing Cooperative at a total cost not to exceed $596,154.
The Board of Education voted to approve the purchase of an aerial lift truck for $38,900 plus applicable registration and license fees. The District's Operations department spends approximately $12,000 per year in rental costs for aerial lifts to access flagpoles, roof edges, upper floor windows, wall lighting packs and parking lot lighting. This is the largest truck that can be serviced at our in-house maintenance facility. This truck has all of the boom lift hydraulics powered by its own engine.
The Board of Education voted to approve the purchase of staff and student furniture for Glenwood Elementary from Lowery McDonnell at a cost not to exceed $188,649.

Personnel
The Board of Education voted to approve an Additional Language Liaison for the Speech and Language Department estimated $27,000 per year prorated for SY 22.
The Board of Education voted to authorize the travel of the Human Resources department staff for the purpose of recruiting teachers for Bilingual, Diverse Learners, Math, Science, and other hard-to-fill vacancies in a variety of job markets to include, but not limited to Mexico, Puerto Rico, HBCU Network, and others, as new recruitment opportunities arise in support of successful recruitment efforts. The estimated cost of $18,000.
The Board of Education voted to approve the appointments, resignations and retirements of 16 employees.
