District 60 is giving Waukegan High School families the opportunity to learn more about how their child can earn free college credits by enrolling in the College of Lake County and WHS Dual Credit Program.

The live event will take place on the District’s Facebook page beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 17. During the event, WHS staff will present on the program and field parent questions.

Taught in partnership with College of Lake County, students who enroll in the Dual Credit Program courses are officially registered at CLC, and earn both high school credit and college credit for the successful completion of approved courses. Courses are taught by CLC instructors, and there is no additional cost for textbooks or tuition.

Each course spans one semester, and will be taken as part of the regular school day. The courses are delivered at a college level, meaning they will move at a faster pace and feature a greater workload. Courses have been chosen with earning an Associates Degree from CLC in mind, but credits also transfer to most colleges and universities.

For more information, and to learn about specific course offerings, tune into the event or contact [email protected].
