Waukegan Community Unit School District #60 will host a special free screening of the 2020 Early Childhood education documentary: “No Small Matter.”

The screening will take place Thursday, February 17 in the Trapp Auditorium of the Waukegan High School-Brookside Campus. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the screening will begin at 6 p.m.

The event will be open to all community members who reserve a free ticket while supplies last ahead of the screening. Tickets can be claimed here. Families must claim tickets for each individual attending, including children, prior to the event to be admitted. 

According to filmmakers, No Small Matter is built from stories of real children, families, and teachers, illustrating the impact of high-quality early childhood experiences. Through their stories, the film lays out the overwhelming evidence for the importance of the first five years, and reveals how our failure to act on that evidence has resulted in an everyday crisis for American families.

To help ensure the safety of our families, capacity for the event will be limited to 300 and all individuals will be required to follow Covid safety protocols, including the wearing of a mask. Families that live in the same household may sit together, but otherwise attendees will be required to maintain six feet of social distancing.

El Distrito Escolar #60 de la Unidad Comunitaria de Waukegan va a presentar una proyección especial y gratuita del documental de educación de edad temprana: “No Small Matter” (No Es Un Asunto Menor) del 2020.

La proyección va a tomar lugar el jueves, 17 de febrero en el Auditorio Trapp de la Escuela Secundaria de Waukegan - Plantel de Brookside. Las puertas abrirán a las 5:30 p.m. y la proyección comenzará a las 6 p.m. 

El evento estará abierto a todos los miembros de la comunidad que reserven un boleto gratuito hasta agotar existencias antes de la proyección. Los boletos pueden ser reclamados aquí. Las familias pueden reclamar boletos para cada individuo atendiendo, incluyendo menores, antes del evento para ser admitidos.

De acuerdo con los cineastas, No Small Matter está hecho de historias de niños, familias y maestros reales, ilustrando el impacto de experiencias en la edad temprana de alta calidad. Por medio de sus historias, la cinta establece la abrumadora evidencia de la importancia de los primeros cinco años, y revela cómo nuestra incapacidad para actuar en base a esa evidencia ha resultado en una crisis del día a día para las familias americanas.  

Para ayudar a garantizar la seguridad de nuestras familias, la capacidad para el evento será limitado a 300 y se le requerirá a todos los individuos a seguir los protocolos de seguridad de Covid, incluyendo el uso de una mascarilla. Las familias que vivan en el mismo hogar pueden sentarse juntas, pero, si no, los asistentes deberán mantener seis pies de distancia social.
