Dear Families and Staff,

As we prepare for Winter Break, I want to wish our staff, students and community a safe and happy holiday season. This year has been a challenge in many regards, and I hope everyone takes advantage of this time off to get some well-deserved rest and relaxation. In times like these, it is important that we are all practicing self-care and taking time for ourselves to recharge and recuperate.

Our first full semester in-person is concluding, and we know the COVID-19 pandemic is still a concern. Cases have steadily been rising in our region and community, and these heightened numbers are being reflected in our schools. The challenge for us – all of us – is taking the necessary precautions to keep case numbers down

The holidays are a time to be with loved ones, and we hope everyone has a chance to spend time with those close to them. However, it is vital that we are all taking the necessary steps not just to protect our loved ones during our break, but our community as a whole. During this time it’s ever so important we continue to be cautious and safe. We encourage you to follow appropriate COVID protocols, listen to health experts, and if you have not yet done so, consider getting the COVID vaccine. Our city has been hit hard during this pandemic, and it is my hope that we all keep this in mind in the upcoming weeks, to ensure a safe return to our classrooms in January.

Beyond that, I hope everyone has a wonderful vacation. This pandemic has taught us a great many things, but chiefly among them is how precious our time with loved ones are. So please be sure to safely take advantage of your break responsibly, and we will see you all in early January.

Sincerely,

Theresa Plascencia
