WHS Students Win Congressional Art Contest

Two Waukegan High School students were recently announced as winners of Congressman’s Brad Schneider’s Congressional Art Competition.

Seniors Kate Salinas and Kimberly Lagunas took first and second place respectively for their pieces, both of which were created with the theme “Unity.”

Kate's work, titled “Together” will be hung in the U.S. Capital next year, alongside other winning entries from around the nation. Kimberly’s piece will be displayed in Congressman Schneider’s District office in Lincolnshire.

Seniors Daisy Camacho, Karina Martinez, Melissa Lopez, Nallely Hernandez, Robert Martinez Fermin, Fatima Rodriguez and Cynthia Vazquez were also featured in the virtual gallery on Congressman Schneider’s Facebook page.
