On Thursday, May 6, District 60 will host a Facebook Live event focused on Accelerated Programs beginning at 6 p.m. During the informational event District staff will familiarize parents with our Accelerated program offerings, as well as how to complete the application process.
District 60 offers accelerated programs for students in grades kindergarten through 8th grade. Those programs are spread across three buildings. Project Discovery is housed in Little Fort Elementary School and serves students in grades 3-5. The GAP program is housed in Thomas Jefferson Middle School and serves students in grades 6-8. The accelerated program at Cooke Magnet Elementary School serves students in grades K-5.

Students are invited to participate in one of the accelerated programs each year based on recent screening results. Students in grade 2 will be administered the Cognitive Abilities Test for entrance in Project Discovery. Students in grade 5 will also be administered the Cognitive Abilities Test for entrance in GAP. Students in kindergarten that are applying for entrance to Cooke Magnet will be administered two readiness exams. For students from other grades interested in these programs, please contact the principal directly.
