Nearly 40 Waukegan High School seniors were recognized this month by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) as “Illinois State Scholars.”

Thirty-eight WHS seniors earned the designation as an Illinois State Scholar from the ISAC. The honor is given annually to students across the state for their exceptional academic achievement. State Scholar designation is based upon ACT or SAT test scores, unweighted class rank and Grade Point Average (GPA). Each student designated as a State Scholar receives a congratulatory letter, a Certificate of Achievement from ISAC.

State Scholars are usually announced in December, however the COVID-19 pandemic delayed this year’s announcements until complete data was available.
