Action Items
The Board of Education voted to approve the professional development contract for Spring of 2021 with GLAD-Guided Language Acquisition Design to train 118 teachers at a cost of $128,400. 
The Board of Education voted to execute the purchase of professional development fees for Instructional Leadership Team members to attend the Writer's Institute at Teacher's College of Columbia University for Lyon Magnet School for a total of $5,950.
The Board of Education voted to execute the Edmentum contract renewal for Waukegan High School and AOEC licenses in the amount of $140,940.
The Board of Education voted to approve an addendum to the 2020-2021 Parent/Student Handbook on Rights and Responsibilities. This addendum was presented for first reading at the March 9, 2021 Board meeting, along with the PTAC advisory recommendations on the subject.  
The Board of Education voted to approve the associated contract extension document with bus company, Illinois Central. The proposed contract has a 3% increase from FY2020-2021.  The increased amount of 3% equates to $228,461.  The total estimated contract value will be $7,843,845 for the 2021-2022 school year.
The Board of Education voted to approve the one year contract extension with Safeway Transportation. The one-year extension contract with Safeway Transportation Service company will allow WPS60 to provide small vehicle transportation for students identified as McKinny-Vento and/or receiving Special Educations services for FY2021-2022. The total amount of the contract is $1,470,996, the same as FY21 due to Safeway proposing a 0% increase.
The Board of Education voted to approve an amendment to the contract for Safeway Transportation Services. Under the Amendment, Safeway will receive partial payment for the amount that they would have received had the District not suspended in-person instruction due to COVID, not to exceed 72% of contractual daily rates. The noted dollar amount is an estimated cost of this contract amendment, reflective of 72% of what the contract would have been if payments were at 100% of the daily contractual rates,  
 
Personnel Items
The Board of Education voted to approve the resignations, retirements, leaves and appointments of 11 employees.

Information Items
The Board of Education reviewed revisions to Policy 1101, Parental Involvement. The policy update reflects recommendations for policy updates to the administration by the FACE Advisory Board and aligns the policy with ESSA's acknowledgement of the role families as well as parents play in supporting student achievement.
