Waukegan Public Schools is partnering with the Waukegan Public Library, to host five weeks of informational live streams for parents throughout February and March. These events, which will be conducted in English and Spanish, will cover a wide variety of topics related to the District’s technology. 

Virtual presentations conducted by WPL staff will show parents how to successfully and safely navigate District and school webpages, Infinite Campus and Google Classroom, as well as how to email with teachers and staff.

English sessions will take place each Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., beginning February 15 and ending March 15. Spanish sessions will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday between February 20 and March 20. A full schedule of live events can be found below.

Week 1: Internet Navigation and Search

English Session: February 15

Spanish Session: February 20

This informational training event will cover the basics of internet navigation and searches, specifically as it pertains to the WPS60 website. Parents will be able to learn how to navigate District and school calendars, resources, school links and more.

Week 2: Infinite Campus Parent Portal

English Session: February 22 

Spanish Session: February 27

This session will instruct parents on how to navigate the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Parents will learn to view their students' grades, attendance, schedule and assessment scores, as well as view and pay fees, complete student registration, view progress reports and report cards and more.

Week 3: Email

English Session: March 1 

Spanish Session: March 6

This session will focus on message functionality, mailbox organization and the basics of email etiquette to use with teachers and administrators

Week 4: Internet Safety for Families and Children

English Session: March 8

Spanish Session: March 13

Week 4’s webinar will cover basic internet safety for families and students, ways parents can protect their children and information and more.

Week 5: Google Classroom 

English Session: March 15  

Spanish Session: March 20  

The final livestream will focus on Google Classroom, and how it is utilized by students and teachers during Remote Learning.
