Working Together for Remote Learning

Working Together for Remote Learning
Posted on 08/17/2020

Dear Parents and Staff,

As we wind down our first day of instruction for the 2020-2021 school year, I want to thank all of our parents and staff for your commitment to educating yourselves on this new Remote Learning structure, as well as ensuring your children and students are prepared to participate in online lessons.

It was wonderful today to hear so many stories of teachers and students eagerly tackling the first day of school. Since March, we have spoken about the importance of everyone remaining fluid and working together for the betterment of our students, and this has never been more true.

We know Remote Learning looks and feels different than it did in the spring. There are more requirements and expectations, but we’re grateful to our families who have worked to learn our new procedures. We’re also thankful for those of you who have remained patient and flexible as we’ve continued down this path.

There have been a lot of updates and information to absorb over the last several weeks, and many parents still have questions  pertaining to the beginning of the school year. To help assist parents, on Wednesday, August 19, we will be hosting two Remote Learning Q&A sessions on Facebook Live. Both streams will take place August 19, with the English stream beginning at 5 p.m. and the Spanish stream at 6 p.m. You can join us here.

During these streams, District staff representing various departments will help address questions related to remote learning, attendance, technology, parent portal and more. If you are unable to participate in the stream, a video of the event will be made available for viewing.

Thank you again to everyone for your understanding as we work through this first week together, and we wish everyone a great rest of the week.

Sincerely,

Theresa Plascencia

Estimados Padres y Personal,

Puedes unirte a nosotros aquí.

Atentamente,

Theresa Plascencia

Superintendente de Escuelas
