Waukegan Public Schools will unveil new websites this week, that will provide a more streamlined and easier-to-use experience for parents, students and staff.

On August 1, District 60 is launching a redesign of its sites, including the websites for all schools buildings. This revamp, which has been planned for a year, includes modernized websites, improved mass communication tools, and a new smartphone app, which will allow for parents to easily access information and receive alerts on the go. The app will soon be available on Apple's App Store and Google Play.

“We’re very excited for how this change is going to modernize and integrate many of our communication tools,” said Associate Superintendent of Information Technology Dr. Josue Cuevas. “Aside from more visually-appealing design, our new sites will also be fully ADA-compliant, and they will more seamlessly communicate with other tools, including our new District app, our mass communication tools, and third-party apps, such as Infinite Campus and MyStop bus app.

The District is also changing its third-party mass communication service, which is used to send texts, e-mails and phone messages about school emergencies and closures, as well as information about important events.

In preparation for the launch, the district’s Information Technology department has been working with web authors district-wide to validate more than 1,600 webpages, meaning all the information on each website will be up-to-date at the time of the launch on August 1.

Informational videos detailing how to navigate the new website are available online. Parents with questions pertaining to the new website are asked to contact the District's IT department at: 224-303-1100.
